Porsche is pressing forward with the electrification of its sports vehicles, and by 2024, the Porsche 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman will be available as completely electric sports cars. Both sports vehicles are based on the Mission R research that was exhibited at the IAA.

According to auto-motor-und-sport.de, both models will be built on the 800-volt PPE platform developed jointly by Audi and Porsche in mid-2021. This is also the basis for the Macan EV and its sister vehicle, the Audi Q6 E-Tron. However, in comparison to the SUV, the platform will be shorter and more adaptable.
