The Volkswagen Amarok arrives in September

Image
The second generation of the Volkswagen Amarok has just been officially unveiled . The new VW Amarok pickup actually resembles a Ford Ranger, and Ford will produce it. But it has a design of its own. Compared to its predecessor, it is a bit larger and has sharper technology. The VW Amarok is a success. Launched in 2009, this pickup has sold more than 830,000 copies worldwide. However, for this brand new generation, the leaders of Wolfsburg have chosen to join forces with their competitor Ford, which will also build the Amarok in its factory in South Africa (for all markets). The  2023 Volkswagen Amarok  is actually based on the Ford Ranger , following the reversed example of the new  Ford Tourneo Connect , which is actually a facelifted Volkswagen Caddy. In the case of pickups, the two models differ more in terms of style, even to the point that only the doors seem interchangeable. Compared to the previous Amarok, the newcomer is distinguished by a more expressiv...

Tesla is unquestionably dominant; nevertheless, are its competitors catching up?

People in the United States are increasingly purchasing electric vehicles . In fact,  according to Kelley Blue Book (KBB), Americans bought nearly twice as many electric cars in the first four months of 2022 as they did in the first quarter of 2021 , and the floodgates are just opening. For the first time, electric vehicles (EVs) accounted for more than 5 percent of all new automobile sales in the United States during the third quarter. Despite a long list of attractive new electric vehicles entering the market, it is evident that Tesla remains the undisputed market leader.  According to KBB, Tesla was responsible for around 75% of all-electric cars sold in the United States in the first quarter of 2022 . Furthermore, the Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3 alone accounted for 68 percent of all sales in that period. Working your way down the list, KBB demonstrates that it becomes more apparent just how far ahead Tesla truly is. For example, about 48,000 Model 3 sedans wer...

There is a long way to go before electric vehicles become commonplace.

Over a quarter of all vehicles in the United States are not electric vehicles. The United States must therefore convince its citizens to replace their gas-powered automobiles with electric vehicles (EVs) in order to achieve carbon neutrality by the year 2050. There is a lot of uncertainty about adoption rates, purchasing prices, and other factors when it comes to new electric car sales forecasts. According to IHS Markit, a company in the automotive sector, about 45 percent of new automobiles might be electrified by the year 2035, according to IHS Markit.       It is estimated that by the year 2050, 50% of all automobiles will be electric.     Under the leadership of President Joe Biden, half of all new vehicles sold by 2030 should be electric, fuel cell, or hybrid-electric. This is a major objective. Electric cars might account for half of all new vehicle purchases by 2030. By 2050, electric vehicles (EVs) might account for up to 70% of all cars on...

The new Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition from $69,000

Image
We understand you assume you believe a Ford Mustang should be a two-door, rear-drive, V-8-powered car. But should we confront the facts?  The  Ford Mustang Mach-E electric SUV  arrives, and it is clearly a Mustang ; it even states so on the sticker. But that is not to suggest there has not been an opportunity for improvement; for example, Ford introduced the Mustang Mach-E last year without a higher-powered GT model from the start. That is like releasing a new-generation Mustang without a V-8, to begin with. It took a while, but the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition is finally here, so we put our test gear on it to see if the wait was worthwhile. The Ford Mustang Mach-E GT follows the same tried-and-true formula: produce a sportier-looking, better-handling, and more powerful electric SUV. The standard Mustang Mach-E GT features two larger permanent-magnet electric motors—one at each axle—for a total of 480 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque, backed up by th...
