The new Volkswagen Taigo SUV coupe at prices from 31,500 euros

Volkswagen has continuously expanded the range of SUV and crossover models in recent years. Now the new Volkswagen Taigo is added, which with its dynamic and robust design, stands out in the class of compact crossover models.

With the introduction of the Taigo, Volkswagen, together with the Polo and T-Cross, has a robust three-leaf clover in a popular price range in Denmark. The Taigo has the exact ground clearance as a T-Cross, but it has a lower and longer body and is taller and more spacious than a Polo.

Volkswagen's designers have stepped up their visual appeal with a Taigo that unites a charismatic, dynamic, and elegant design expression in a way that has usually been reserved for models in higher price ranges. The deep radiator grille and headlights connected by a luminous LED strip (if equipped with IQ.Light) give the Taigo an expressive front design, and the sloping roofline results in an elegant coupe-like profile. At the rear, the dark-toned headband with LED taillights and a wide reflective strip Taigo gives a sporty and exclusive design expression.

The Volkswagen Taigo is also described with words like a coupe-SUV, one could also be led to believe that the car's spaciousness and practical properties have been compromised. But with a length of 427 cm, the Taigo offers excellent space for five people in the cabin, and the luggage compartment of 440 liters is large and easily accessible via the large tailgate.

The latest generation of assistance systems such as Travel Assist makes every trip in Taigo comfortable and safe.

The model range for the Taigo consists of four equipment lines and three engine variants that come with either a 5- or 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

Prices for the Volkswagen Taigo start at 31,500 euros for a 1.0 TSI with 95 hp and 5-speed manual transmission, but this equipment variant will not be introduced until the summer of 2022. With the introduction of the Taigo at the end of December, the model program starts with a Taigo Life 1 .0 TSI with 95 hp for 34,200 euros. This variant features comprehensive standard equipment that includes, among other things, Digital Cockpit with a 20.32 cm display, 16-inch Belmodan alloy wheels, leather-covered multifunction steering wheel, and electrically adjustable side mirrors with heating and folding function. Taigo also raises the level in this price range compared to assistant systems, where it comes with parking sensors front and rear, Park Assist, Lane Assist, Blind Spot Sensor, and the advanced Travel Assist that makes Taigo partially self-driving.

If more engine power is desired, Taigo Life is also offered with a 110 hp 1.0 TSI with a 6-speed manual gearbox for 35,600 euros, and with a 7-speed DSG gearbox, driving comfort and price are raised 38,300 euros.

The next equipment step in Taigo is called Style, and for an additional price of 2,000 euros compared to Taigo Life, standard equipment such as 17" Aberdeen alloy wheels, Sport comfort seats, Ambient lighting in the interior, Driving profile setting, XDS differential, and the advanced IQ Light LED Matrix headlights. In addition, Taigo Style is available with a 110 hp 1.0 TSI engine with 6-speed manual transmission for 37,600 euros and a 150 hp 1.5 TSI engine with 7-speed DSG gear for 43,000 euros. The powerful 1.5 TSI engine follows sporty performance, and a Taigo Style 1.5 TSI reaches 100 km / h. in just 8.3 seconds and has a top speed of 212 km / h.

The Volkswagen Taigo is offered in an R-Line version that further underpins the model's dynamic design expression. The Taigo R-Line stands out with a front bumper that is equipped with distinctive air intakes and style elements in high-gloss black, together with the wide and unique radiator grille and IQ Light-LED-Matrix headlights provide a strong design. The rear bumper has integrated exhaust pipes with chrome edge and a diffuser in high-gloss black, and the beautiful 18" Misano alloy wheels complete the Taigo R-Line's sporty visual appeal. The interior offers Sport comfort seats with R-Line seat upholstery. The black roof canopy and a dashboard with decor inlays in an anodized matte gray color is a fine coupe-SUV. The Taigo's interior strikes a fine balance between the interior exclusive and sporty.

The Volkswagen Taigo R-Line is offered with a 110 hp 1.0 TSI engine with 6-speed manual transmission for 39,700 euros, and with 7-speed DSG gear, the price is 42,300 euros, while the top model Taigo R-Line 1.5 TSI with 150 hp and 7-speed DSG gear costs 45,000 euros.

The new Volkswagen Taigo can be seen at Volkswagen dealers in December 2021. @Volkswagen and Spare-Wheel.
